古着という「過去」のモノを扱い、「現在」のヒトに届け、それぞれが接し、触れ合う事で新たな「未来」を創り出す事ができる。

そこには服があり、アートがあり、哲学があり、それ以前に人が居る。

「モノを大切にする日本の価値観を世界の人々と共有し、日本人には大事にしてほしい」というオーナー荒井の考えから、和をテーマとし、100年以上前から建っていた木造の古民家にリノベーションを加えて今の私たちがその想いを繋ぐために、数々のハイブランドや百貨店の内装を手掛けてきた熟練の職人の方の監修の元で所属スタッフのみで内装を作り上げました。
床には前述したモノを大切にする文化として古来より壊れた陶磁器割れた面を漆で固めその上から金を塗る行為、「金継ぎ」をイメージした床が投影されており、枯山水や鹿おどしなどの日本ならではの侘び寂びを感じられる空間が演出されています。
取り扱うアイテムは、歴史を通じて服やアートの理解を深める事で新たな価値観の創造や長く大切に着る事が可能な厳選されたアイテムが並べられております。

「和をもって尊しとなす」といった御言葉があるように、素敵な接点がありますように。



CETTEN（接点）: The point where a curve or surface meets a straight line or another object. It represents the meeting or alignment of different elements.
An intersection exists between people and people, art and people, and clothing and art. Through handling vintage items from the ‘past,’ we deliver them to the ‘present’ individuals, allowing each interaction to create a new ‘future.

Within this context, there are clothes, art, philosophy, and, most importantly, people.
CETTEN’s flagship store opened on May 1, 2023, in Nakazakicho, Osaka. Owner Arai’s vision is to convey Japan’s value of cherishing objects to people worldwide, emphasizing the importance of this mindset for Japanese individuals. The store’s theme centers around ‘wa’ (harmony) and is housed in a renovated wooden traditional Japanese house that has stood for over a century. The interior was meticulously crafted by skilled artisans, who previously worked on high-end brand boutiques and department stores. The floor design, inspired by the ancient Japanese practice of ‘kintsugi’ (repairing broken pottery with lacquer and gold), features a projection of mended ceramic fragments overlaid with gold. The space also incorporates elements like dry landscape gardens (‘karesansui’) and deer scarers (‘shishi-odoshi’) to evoke the unique aesthetic of wabi-sabi.
CETTEN carefully curates items that allow customers to deepen their understanding of clothing and art throughout history. These thoughtfully selected pieces offer new perspectives and the opportunity for long-lasting enjoyment.
